It’s Not About the Orgasm

Got this from the Cheshire Kitten Project:
“Writing is like making love. Don’t worry about the orgasm, just concentrate on the process.”
—Isabel Allende
Lately, writing for me (and everything else, actually) has been nothing more than a race to an orgasm. I should just learn to take a deep breath and enjoy the (er-) ride, huh?
Thanks for this, Andrea!

Sorry i am innocent on this topic.
What topic? We’re talking about writing, aren’t we? Masyado kang bastos!
Innocent nga ako sa writing. Di pa nga ako tapos. Iba kasi niisip. Greenminded.
still waitin’ for that orgasmic experience.. ehem..sa pagsulat! hehehh..
hoefully i’l have one soooooonnn…
haha. kai. i should talk to mario.
but that’s not the point. the point is - i was so obsessed with orgasms that i failed to enjoy the process of getting there. you get what i mean?
it’s like when some women say, “i didn’t climax, but i still had a great time.” - i never could quite understand that. i mean, i used to think that without an orgasm, what’s the point?
i never had a problem reaching (er-) those heights, but i also stopped looking at the scenery on my way to the top.
and there are so many pit stops along the way that i should have explored. should have devoured. should have savored.
you get what i mean?
and hey, we are still talking about writing, aren’t we?
hahaha, i exactly get what you mean
yan
havin’ read some of your stuff , i think
you’ll have more orgasmic trips pa
and with your style, i know you’ll gonna enjoy every moment of it..
thanks, kai. we all get literary epiphanies every now and then that mildly resemble the overpowering, mind-blowing ecstasy of…well…you-know-what.
writing = writhing = writing
(sometimes the difference eludes me)
yeah, sure, it’s not about the orgasm.
…but sometimes that’s all there is.
and that’s okay, too.
…wahahahahha.
(inconsistent, much?)
