Blogdrive Gone?
By Yan • Dec 5th, 2007 • Category: Random TidbitsUpdate (Dec. 10, 2007): Blogdrive’s back. I’m currently too busy to write anything longer than this. So let me just say that I’m happy for all of you blogdrive users out there.

There’s some sort of ruckus in the Himantayon.com tagboard over the sudden disappearance of Blogdrive. Apparently, Blogdrive disappeared without warning. Blogdrive users are now frantically looking for an explanation, hoping beyond hope that their blogs would be somehow restored.
As a former Blogdrive user, I can’t say that I’m the least bit surprised. It’s been long in coming. Blogdrive simply did not — or could not — evolve. In a highly competitive blogosphere, keeping a Blogdrive blog simply did not make sense anymore.
I, too, have over three years of writing in Blogdrive. I managed to migrate (and by that, I mean through manual copy and paste — no slick db migration or anything of the sort) some of my worthwhile posts, but couldn’t find the time to transfer all of the content. Unless Blogdrive re-registers its expired domain name and goes live again, those hastily strung words and phrases, awkwardly construed sentences, rare spurts of lucidity and whatnot, would remain lost to me forever. (Just as well. Angst is so unbecoming. Heh.)
My advice to Guile, Kai and other slighted Blogdrive bloggers: Keep your fingers crossed (for all we know, this could be but a temporary setback). But don’t hold your breaths while waiting for a miracle. And in the meantime, try Blogger/Blogspot or Wordpress.com. Each has its own merits, but this post isn’t really about that.
And believe me when I say that I feel your pain. But then again, we must all move on.

Hmm… too bad> I feel sorry for those who have an account in Blogdrive. Hope my own host will not dissapear without prior notice.
i love this theme and this site
i’ll use dark black theme later..
thank you brother..
i’m beginner in web.
thanks, liteforward. happy blogging.
i know how you feel.
i never had Blogdrive account but eBloggy disappeared and they came back eventually–new ownership I guess–but there I lost over 500 blogposts.
And Blogspirit deleted my blogs when they went from free accounts to forcing you to a paid account without warning.
Whether eBloggy, Blogpspirit, Blogdrive(and many others)would be nice if these blogsites would as a courtesy show some respect to the bloggers by giving enough advance notice so we can save all our posts.
awww. i feel for you, mate. why don’t you get a self-hosted wordpress blog instead?
