Part 1: Of P

I haven’t talked to, nor heard from, Pio in over 4 years. That’s a long time for two people who claim to be friends.

Gen has always insisted that I did something to offend the poor guy. (As most of you know, I need a few more lessons in tact. ) And although I seemed to scoff at the idea, I was really starting to worry.

So, you can imagine the sheer pleasure I felt when Pio, who’s currently based in Japan, indulged me with a brief IM chat today. I’ve really missed the guy (though not as much as some people), and it was great to know that we’re still friends, after all. (I think Atty. Gerik Paderanga may need a little more convincing, though. Sorry, Yops.)

Pio’s excuse? He’s been busy. Yeah, yeah, we all get it. Getting a PhD in Metallurgical Engineering is no walk in the park. But emailing 1 or 2 sentences to let your friends know you’re still alive takes all of 30 seconds. How hard can it be?

Oh, well.

Bygones.

Part 2: Of B

What started as a me-getting-emo-and-telling-off-pio-kind-of-chat became a crazy conference with Gen and Jojo.

For the most part of the conversation, I did a good job staying off the “B” topic (trust me, my own restraint surprised even me :lol:).

But through no fault of mine, it soon became unavoidable:

Pio: I don’t have a girlfriend now, Yan.

Me: Since when?

Pio: Since a long time ago.

Me: Okay. I’ll spread the word to all the single ladies in the world.

Jo: Especially the ___________ part of the world?

Me: Jo! That topic is taboo!

Pio: Why taboo, Yan?

Me: So, it’s okay to talk about you and Bon?

Pio: Hahahah.

And that was all the fuel I needed for lift-off.
